My Tarot Card Reading at Three Wishes in Paradise

Shari Koseki, owner of Three Wishes in Paradise, offers a free 10 minute tarot card reading with a $25 purchase every First Fashion Friday. I decided to check out this art of fortune telling on my own, so I could tell you about it before the next First Fashion Friday.

One important thing to remember is that “bad” looking cards do not necessarily symbolize bad situations. For example, I once pulled the “Death” card, which had a horrific picture of heads rolling down a hill. It does not literally mean death; it actually signifies change—the metaphorical “death” of a situation (job, relationship, environment, etc.) so that you can start a new one.

There are various approaches to tarot readings, and Shari goes by the book to keep your reading structured and on track.

“I usually recommend people come in for readings every six to eight weeks,” she says. “The farthest we’ll look is about three months into the future. This is because you have the ability, through these readings, to help shift your destiny. Energy is always changing. There are some things that are inevitable, but in many cases a reading can help you prepare for situations. Forewarned is forearmed.”

I pulled 10 cards and stacked them in front of me in order. Shari then arranged the cards in a “Celtic Cross” formation. The first two cards were the Devil card, crossed by the Ace of Swords. Aces signify beginnings, and I pulled three aces. Here is the general reading I got:

The Devil card indicates success in your career, but there is a major decision coming in the next couple of months—you have to make a choice that makes things difficult. You will be, or already are, working on a brand new project to bring in a lot of money (note: for work, not for me). It will start slowly and you’ll think you are not making progress, but in the near future, someone or something from your past is coming to help you. The only things holding you back on this project are: stubborn people not wanting to move forward, and your anxiety (hopes & fears)—you may feel you don’t want to do the project anymore. The last card, the Moon, shows frustration, confusion, and deception. Again, this all goes back to your rocky start on this project.

Shari is new to the mall so she didn’t really know this, but the only new project I have on my books—present and future—is First Fashion Friday. I’ll admit that although it is popular with our target audience, it is not the runaway blockbuster that I had envisioned coming out of the gate. Its buzz has ramped up faster than I expected, however, and we are seeing continuing progress. I’m not sure who the person from my past is yet, though.

I pulled three more cards to see the outcome of the project: Star, Knight of Cups, and Three of Pentacles.

The Stars indicate that this is something that seems to be just out of your reach. But thanks to your relationships and hard work, it will go through.

The rest of my reading, while significantly uncanny, would make no sense to anyone who doesn’t know me. But she sees me meeting a man who is good with his emotions and good for me. My running fitness should also go okay—as long as I stick to it—because whatever injuries I’ve had will not get any worse. I do need to get something internal checked, however (my assistant insists it’s my liver). And that’s just a small part of the overall reading.

It wasn’t a scary reading at all. Shari uses intuition, not clairvoyance, to pull information from the cards, so you won’t hear any spooky details. Be aware that no psychic or reader is every 100 percent accurate; they are employed for entertainment purposes! If you are really looking for a message, however, you might try two or three different people in the same time frame to see what common messages emerge.

If you miss First Fashion Fridays’ promotion but you’d still like a tarot reading, call Three Wishes in Paradise at 528-0395. Readings are done by appointment only, for evenings and weekends, at $25 for a half hour.
