“Feng Shui is a Chinese discipline that emphasizes the importance of the placement of objects in one’s environment to attain optimal harmony and enhanced energy flow,” says Alice, whose clients span Hawaii, the mainland, Singapore, Peru, and Japan. “Feng Shui also uses color to bring balance and specific energies to one’s surroundings.”
She adds that, by intentionally wearing specific colors and styles for certain occasions, one can influence their own personal energy, as well as the energy of those around them. For example, red represents the element of fire, and brings forth the energy of confidence when worn, so Alice recommends wearing this color when you want to feel bolder, and bring more power into your expression.
Through this specialized feng shui workshop, Alice will show attendees how to determine one’s ideal self; the various personality archetypes; closet cures; and how to structure one’s wardrobe to attract the elements of life that one seeks, with specific examples of articles of clothing.
In addition to this workshop, free prizes will be given away on stage and several stores at Aloha Tower Marketplace will be offering special sales, gifts with purchase, and in-store prize giveaways.
Attendees can also enter to win a free wardrobe and cosmetic makeover from the Marketplace, including a personal style session with Hawaii InStyle TV producer Julie Aragaki, an ultrasound facial by CMC Medi-Spa, a cosmetic dental consultation with Dr. Russell Matsunaga and hair and makeup from Alison Hayashi from Kiss and Makeup. The winner of the makeover will be selected on September 20 and will be revealed at the following First Fashion Friday on October 5.
