Fit Tip of the Month:
Target Muscle: Shoulders
Take a 3-5 pound dumbbell, or heavier if you are stronger. Stand with your feet about shoulder width apart. Pay attention to your posture; it’s important to stand with your shoulders back and your chest out, keeping your knees soft (not locked). During this exercise, keep your head up. It helps if you focus your eyes on an area above.
Grasp each end of the dumbbell with your hands and hold it in front of you, arms straight. Then lift the dumbbell straight up as demonstrated in the image. Still keeping your arms straight, lower the dumbell, and you’ve just completed one repetition. Do three to five sets of 15 to 20 reps.
